Nola, the best way to see the town!

Sunday, February 28th was the 2016 Rock n Roll Marathon in New Orleans.  They ran a special and I signed up over a year in advance for the price of $50.  Many Texas Beef Team members signed up as well, and I saw them on the course and after the race.  From my area, we had atleast 20 people travel to the amazing home of Jazz music and Creole food, known as Nola.  I spent time touring the French quarter, the Jackson Square, St. Thomas Cathedral and the French market.  I enjoyed a brunch at the Soul of Two Sisters and a beignet at Café Demond.  But the best part was the race.  I ran the half marathon with friends and really had a great run.  The weather was great, low humidity and beautiful skies.  I had to watch my footing as there were many cracks in the roads at the first half of the course, but it was such a fun event, I didn't mind one bit.  The after party was at the Park and they had plenty of chocolate milk, Gatorade, bananas, snacks and Michelob ultra.  I ran in my beef tank, with my new Skechers Go Run Forza tennis shoes. I tracked my race with the Garmin Forerunner 310XT which gave me accurate time, distance, and pace.  My finish was in 2:07:16 and I was happy with the event, the trip, and the amazing city.
