I've found I am motivated to push myself when I have a race scheduled on the calendar and upcoming. I like working towards a goal. It may be to finish a race, set a new PR, or place in my age group. The race may be a local 5K or a longer distance run. I find that having that date in the back of my mind will keep me focused on getting my miles in and improving my speed overall.This year my goal has been one race a month and my first full marathon.
