I've been an event coordinator in a previous position, so when the opportunity came around to use my skills as an event coordinator along with my passion for running, I said yes to being the race director of an inaugural event, the West Brazos 5K in Brazoria on August 18, 2012. Putting together the event is a fun challenge that I am really passionate about. I have ran in many other 5K races, so as a spectator I know what I like. Now I get to see the behind the scenes coordinating first hand.
